shutterstock_605334080Interesting piece in The Economist highlighting the importance of having a mixed sex team. The context is hospital surgical teams – but I think it has broader relevance.

“. . . predominantly male surgical teams that were led by a man proved twice as likely as similar teams led by a woman to experience conflict . . . whereas in female teams there was no difference, regardless of leader.”

It chimes with my own experience; it’s definitely more challenging (and not in a good way!) working with an all male team; much energy gets wasted on posturing and conflict resolution.
