Project Manager: Industrial Process Engineering – Technology Transfer

Interim assignment: immediate start, 12 months duration.

We are looking for a Project Manager to plan and oversee the transfer of industrial process engineering technology from the UK to India. The assignment will be UK based with several visits to India.

You will manage a UK based project team tasked with designing the Indian facility, basing the design on that of an operational UK plant. The project scope will also include supporting the build and installation of the Indian plant, training its staff and then qualifying the operational process and its products. The new facility will occupy a 1000 sq m extension to an existing plant.

Reporting to the directors of the UK operation, you will be the main point of contact between the UK and our Indian business partners. Liaising with stakeholders and subject matter experts in both countries, you will be responsible for drawing up plans and budgets, risk management and, ultimately, ensuring the timely delivery of the programme.

We need you for your managerial – rather than technical – expertise. So, while some background knowledge and experience of process engineering is desirable, it is your prowess as a project manager that we are really interested in. You will be amply supported and advised by technical experts in both countries.

The UK plant is based in Essex and, following your familiarisation with its operations and key personnel, you will have plenty of scope for working from home. There will also be some travel to visit our business partners in India.
